This training series will provide essential information about new developments in the rapidly growing field of co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. Providers will be introduced to terminology, assessment and treatment strategies and models. This training will also provide participants with foundational knowledge on evidence-based practices in behavioral health specifically designed for use by mental health professionals to assist them in enhancing their professional skills and abilities to address the needs of individuals with co-occurring disorders. The training will be based on the Treatment Improvement Protocol 42-Substance Abuse Treatment for Persons with Co-Occurring Disorders with a special emphasis on translating knowledge into your clinical practice. To support implementation and integration into practice, this training will be conducted as a series.
