Objectives:

  1. Participants will understand changing trends on the use of stimulants and opiates.
  2. Participants will understand the pharmacological properties of stimulants and the effects of stimulants on the central nervous system and the brain.
  3. Participants will understand the specific treatment challenges associated with the use of opiates versus the use of stimulants.
  4. Participants will become aware of myths associated with stimulant use.
  5. Participants will identify their own biases about stimulant users.
  6. Participants will explore the impact of agency policy on client access to care.
