This 1.5-day interactive training will provide participants with the opportunity to learn how to conduct Intensity Of Needs Determinations using the LOCUS and CASII measures. This training is for clinicians and QMHA's who regularly make determinations for appropriate levels of care. Participants will have the opportunity to: learn the 6 dimensions of measures and how to determine ratings for each dimension, understand the characteristics of levels of care, apply the measures to case examples, and use the intensity of needs determinations to make treatment decisions based on medical necessity. We will also review and discuss how to these measures can be used to measure treatment outcomes and make decisions related to continued stay criteria and transfer/discharge criteria as individuals move through treatment and the various levels of care and phases of treatment.
