February
Sex addiction, sexual compulsivity, sexual impulsivity, out of control sexual behavior, paraphilia related disorder… all names used to describe a behavioral phenomenon that many of our clients experience as true suffering and struggle. We will briefly discuss what the phenomenon may mean diagnostically. Then combining several models, including trans-diagnostic, out-of-control sexual behavior, and sexology perspectives, we will discuss how to help our clients achieve sexual, emotional, relational, and mental health. Treatment exercises and practice will include the adaptive function of emotions, erotic maps, interpersonal relationships, and much more. At the end of the workshop participants will be able to identify several models, including trans-diagnostic, out-of-control sexual behavior, and sexology perspectives, and be able to better help clients achieve sexual, emotional, relational, and mental health. This workshop is appropriate for clinicians working with clients with substance use and mental health issues.
