This workshop will cover interventions for clients dealing with sexual health concerns including managing impulsive-compulsive behaviors, setting limits, and establishing a sex life in recovery. Clinicians will learn and practice interventions focused on working with emotions, existential concerns, desire maps and more. Skills will build on focusing clinical interviewing on sex issues, using motivational interviewing to reduce ambivalence, working with emotion driven behaviors effectively, managing countertransference, and other tools from substance use and sexual health fields. Differences in sexual orientation and gender identity will be considered in identifying appropriate interventions.
