Research indicates the efficacy of treating the whole person when designing interventions for substance abuse. A widely accepted premise in systems theory is: the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. In this Webinar, practitioners will learn experiential techniques to help clients discern between the mind, body and spirit as individual entities which, when working together, create the whole self. This Webinar includes a description of current trauma research which indicates the need to incorporate the body’s implicit memory into recovery treatment plans. Intrapersonal communication skills will be discussed as an intervention for creating mutually beneficial relationships between the client’s mind, body and spirit. This Webinar is appropriate for MFTs, Social Workers, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors and Nurses.
