In this workshop we’ll explore how healthy sexuality and its underlying principles relate to the client’s recovery. We’ll also discuss how people in recovery have may have masked or created problems by their drug and alcohol use, and that for many clients sexual health will be a critical part of their treatment and relapse prevention. Finally we’ll look at exercises to use with the client, and discuss how to combine the exercises with skills such as motivational interviewing to help our clients set sexual health treatment goals as a part of recovery. Note: American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) credits will be available for this workshop.
