Registration: Health and Wellbeing Across the Lifespan - In Person Training

In this workshop, we will explore different ways to support a client’s health and wellbeing across the lifespan. We will investigate the basics of providing care for an individual and how can we support a patient/client in living the life that they want. The workshop will include experiential practices, communication techniques, and discussion-based learning exercises. Outcomes: Explain the impacts of learned helplessness on a patient/client; Describe Selective Optimization with Compensation theory and how it relates to providing care for a patient/client; Describe the impacts of empathy vs. sympathy; Demonstrate active listening techniques; Discover how our own personal wellbeing impacts the people that we care for; Describe at least three factors of health and wellbeing; Describe two factors that affect motivation of an individual.
